DISCLAIMER: This prototype has loads of bugs, loads of missing animations, game breaking bugs are expected

These are two preliminary prototypes with distinct approaches to the gameplay design, while maintaining the same narrative, this allowed us to compare key elements within our artifact. (in the testing that was performed)

Both prototypes followed the same storyline, however had different gameplay segments to be better fit to the type of experience we were testing.

Prototype A was a more abstract approach, hoping users were intrinsically engaged with the experience of a story centered around foxes. No narrative explanations, cinematic sequences were up to the user to interpret.  A walking simulator gameplay was employed with different times of day to demonstrate the passage of time. Lastly this version used the dig ability for the discovery.

Prototype B was a platform experience, and followed a more traditional game design approach. Cinematic sequences had narration to explain what was happening in the story.  A platforming experience was used for the player to gather the object. Additionally a direction was given to the user with places to go when solving puzzles to create a challenge.
